Albinson Reprographics and ProColor Join Forces

August 16, 2004

Albinson Reprographics and Professional Color Services (ProColor) joined forces today, August 16, 2004. Both companies will continue their unique business offerings while benefiting from this strategic union. “This union makes a very capable, large format graphic supplier”, said Roger Strege, Albinson's General Manager. “You've got two graphics companies with rich histories joining together. Their services are complementary creating a stronger corporate group with better graphic solutions for our customers.”

Albinson Reprographics LLC was founded by Vogel Albinson, Sr. in 1946 and currently has four locations in Minnesota. Their reprographic and facility management services are well known throughout the architectural and corporate community. ProColor was founded by Howard Hanson, Bob Sanders and Rollie Rustad in 1959 and has been at their Minneapolis Downtown location for the past 25 years. Service to the professional photography and advertising community is still the core of their business. Both businesses grew being closely held, family run entities. Over the years, large format output, scanning, retouching, archiving and internet services have grown for both companies. The ability to draw on each other's expertise will make both groups stronger.

While each business unit will continue under their own name, they will physically move together at Albinson's 1401 Glenwood location. The business partnership owning ProColor's 909 Hennepin location sold the building in June. Albinson is currently using just half of the Glenwood building creating this opportunity for ProColor. “We'll move ProColor from four floors of production to one stream-lined production area”, Strege added.

For ProColor, it's a great relocation opportunity that keeps the business close to their customers located in the heart of the city. With Albinson's past photographic services, many needed items like floor drains and extensive plumbing still exist in the Glenwood location. During the next few months, ProColor will be involved in a full remodel of the 1401 Glenwood location. As the new location is prepared, ProColor will move in stages resulting with no interruption of service to its clients.

In 2000, Albinson Reprographics was purchased by Albinson Reprographics/ProColor based in Dallas, Texas. Since 1956, Albinson Reprographics/ProColor has become the largest family owned and operated reprographics company in the country. ProColor is proud to be joining this graphic group that demonstrates our same corporate values, family involvement and personal commitment to our customers.
